About Great Start K9 Obedience

Positive Reinforcement Training

At Great Start K9 Obedience, I believe in the power of positive reinforcement training. I am an Animal Behavior College Certified, R+ trainer, and use reward-based techniques to encourage dogs to learn new behaviors and commands. I believe that training should be enjoyable for both dogs and their owners, and my methods reflect this belief.

As a member of HEARTland Positive Dog Training Alliance, I advocate positive, fear free training techniques.

🐾 I am an animal advocate: a voice for the voiceless 🐾

Behavior Modification Programs

I offer behavior modification programs that are designed to help dogs overcome unwanted behaviors such as aggression*, separation anxiety, and fear. I use a combination of training techniques to help dogs learn new coping mechanisms and develop positive associations.

*Depending on the type/severity of aggression, you may be referred to a veterinary behaviorist before continuing training.

Friendly & Knowledgeable

I am passionate about helping dogs and their owners, and am committed to providing excellent customer service, ensuring that both dogs and their owners feel comfortable and supported throughout the training process.

Service Dog Training

This is a 12-24 Month Program

I have several spots for Mondays now available for Mobility and/or Psychiatric Service Dog Training with the owner.

Please email me at pibbles77@gmail.com for an application to the program.

If accepted, we will set up an intake interview (please bring a support team member with you if you can), go over expectations, cost, commitment, and the client/trainer contract. Prior to SD training, your puppy/dog must be evaluated by me for suitability for the program, and complete basic obedience training as necessary. Ideally, I will accompany you to help choose your SD candidate that will most likely make it to graduate SD training.
